My Character Goal

I was a new student to TCIS. First time I came here, it was kind of hard to be familiar with the school and the dorm. So I decided to have my Character Goal. I decided to have a special goal for me.
My Character Goal is to be active. When I was in the Korean School, I was active. But when I came to TCIS, I couldn’t be active, because most of the things were different from Korean School. No matter what happens, I am going to achieve my goal. I am going to explain you guys why I want to be active, and the method I could be active.
The main reason I want to be active is because if I become active, I can make lots of friends. I think activity is the best way to have lots of friends. I am going to eat lunch with my friends, and talk a lot with them. I was very quiet in the lunch time. From now on, I will talk a lot with my friends. That’ll help a lot making numerous friends.
The other reason I want to be active is because I want to have confidence to myself. Before, I was very timid, so I didn’t talk much, I didn’t play much, and I didn’t have confidence to myself. To have confidence to myself, I am going to be brave. I am going to challenge to the world. “Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace.” – Amelia Earhart
This statement is absolutely true. I am going to throw my cowardice away, and gain the courage. To challenge, and be brave is a great way to be active.

Standard 1. Uses the general skills and strategies of the writing process

- Editing and Publishing

A) GOAL: When I was in USA I was not good at writing, but the problem was that after writing I didn't edit. So I am trying to learn about editing and publishing.

METHOD: I am going to learn about editing and publishing in my writing class from Ms.Johnson. I will practice myself at home.

Standard 2. Uses the stylistic and rhetorical aspects of writing

- Uses paragraph form in writing

A) GOAL: I am going to learn how to separate paragraphs or combine paragraghs.

METHOD: I will learn how to separate or combine paragraghs by practicing writing essays.

Standard 3. Uses grammatical and mechanical conventions in written compositions

- Uses adverbs in written compositions

A) GOAL: Before, I didn't have adverbs almost, so my documents were so boring.

METHOD: I am going to search dictionary about lots of adverbs, and I will find good ones and use them.

Standard 4. Gathers and uses information for research purposes

- Uses variety of print and electronic sources to gather information for research topics.

A) GOAL: I only did my homework by handwriting, but I realized that typing and printing was much easier, so I decided to use some electronic sources for reasearching.

METHOD: I will type a lot for researching and print them a lot. That is going to help me using electronic sources.

A) GOAL: When I was in Korean School, I often did latework. But in TCIS I will do my works on time,

so I can get great grades.

METHOD: I am not going to do my all works before the due day. I will do my works every single night.
